The New York artist mastered the art of combining poetic lyrics with dream-like atmospheres and cinematic sonic landscapes. Her music is hauntingly dark and beautiful, bridging the gaps between experimentalism and earnest song-writing.

Dagmara Jack (Daarien) was born in Katowice, Poland.

She has started her education on piano when she was 4 years old.At the age of 13 she won First Prize at the Second National Composers' Competition for a work dedicated to Pope John Paul II.In 2000 she received the Grand Prix at the Eighth National Composers' Competition in Tarnów for her work "Wind-Oak-Quintet".

In 2001 she received the First Prize and the Prize for the Young Composer on International Electroacoustic Music Competition MUSICA NOVA 2001 in Prague.She participated in courses for young composers in Jelenia Góra ,in Cracow- IRCAM workshops “Acanthes” (2000), Summer Academy of music and Ictus Seminar for Composers in Brussels.


Masterclasses with Jonathan Harvey ,Thierry De Mey,Stanislaw Moryto,Marek Stachowski,Tristan Murail, Thomas Kessler and Aleksander Lasoń.

Composition studies with Roland Moser in Academy of Music in Basel, Enno Poppe, Helmut Zapf in Berlin, Wilfried Krätzschmar und Wilfried Jentsch in Dresden.

Her music was performed on many international contemporary music festivals, for example `Warsaw Autumn`, Silesian Days of contemporary music in Katowice, New Music Forum (Warsaw) and in concerts in Germany, Poland, Canada, Finland,Italy and England. Dagmara Jack has received commissions from many performers, like Justyna Danczowska, A.Gabrys,Martin Backhaus.She is the youngest member of the Polish Composers' Union.She has received many scholarships, for example from Thyll-Dürr Foundation (Zürich), Lyra Foundation (Zürich) ,Oscar & Vera Ritter Foundation (Germany), Seagate Creative Fonds (Bristol,UK) and lately from Initiative Musik gGmbH project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. (Berlin,Germany).

Her music was broadcasted by Radio Katowice, Radio Deutschland (Germany) and Co-op Radio Vancouver (Canada),Classic Radio (Norway), Rundfunk SWR (Germany) and many others.
